On Lifeblood, one of the top podcasts on investing, Hallie Kraus, CFP®, CRPC®, Private Wealth Advisor at Treehouse Wealth Advisors, talks to host George Grombacher about her focus on breaking the taboo of talking about money, especially with close loved ones.
Hallie Kraus speaks on Conversation Circles, which have been a staple of the Treehouse Wealth community, including around 8-12 women, highlighting a different topic for each Circle. These Conversation Circles were adjusted to an online platform during the pandemic, but Hallie found that this virtual space led to a rewarding dynamic. Non-local participants were able to join, and some members felt more comfortable sharing from the familiar setting of their own home. Treehouse Wealth has chosen to continue this online option for Conversation Circles even as they make their move back into the office.
Kraus also discusses fiscal equality with George. The idea that many couples place worth in money leads to the person with fewer resources feeling devalued and the person with more resources often trying to diminish their own status. She notes that acknowledging this dynamic and building common ground are some helpful first steps for couples navigating this process.
Hallie highlights the importance of ESG investing, or impact investing, which she describes as “an accessible way to do good with your money”, tracking its development in recent years.
